Mumbai second best place to live in India

Mumbai: Mumbai may be the financial capital of India but when it comes to overall liveability factor, the city loses out to the country’s political capital, Delhi.

According to the Liveability Index 2010, jointly prepared by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the Institute of Competitiveness (IFC), Delhi is the best Indian city to live in closely followed by Mumbai. Besides topping the index, Delhi is also found to be coming up as an aspirational benchmark of urban development for other cities.
Mumbai is second in the list of 37 cities mapped on parameters like living standard, socio-cultural political environment, education, medical standards and recreational possibilities, among others. Mumbai is followed by Chennai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad and Pune ranked 3rd to 8th, while Faridabad, Ludhiana, Lucknow, Patna, Visakhapatnam and Jamshedpur are the last six ranked cities.
