Server crashes during online HSC exam

Over 60 HSC students were left in the lurch on Wednesday after the servers at their exams centres - Sion’s Guru Nanak College and Dharavi’s Rajarshi Shahu Junior College - crashed. The students were taking an online Information Technology paper. Authorities of both colleges blame the crash on a virus in their system.
While students who took the paper at the Sion college could not even begin their exam as the servers refused to accept the password, students at Rajarshi Shahu Junior College say the servers crashed while they were still answering the paper. “Most of us had completed half the questions by then,” said a student at Rajarshi Shahu Junior College adding that he and the others were afraid they would lose their marks.
He added, “The exam was scheduled to be conducted in two batches - from 11 am to 1.30 pm and from 2 pm to 5.30 pm. I was in the first batch. When I tried to click on the answer, the message ‘Internet server not connected’ flashed on my screen. Soon after, the question paper vanished and the system shut down… I don’t know what is going to happen now as no information was given to us by the exam centre.”
