Ram Kadam says he erected the structure to promote Maharashtrian tradition; uses it to take a jibe at other states. In a bid to bring in the Marathi New Year with bragging rights, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) MLA Ram Kadam from Ghatkopar (West) has erected what he claims is the tallest gudi in India.
The 125-ft high structure, draped with a sari lined with MNS' party colours, was erected outside his party office in Ghatkopar late last night. "My party workers have been planning this structure for three days and everyone's been working hard to make sure it gets erected," said Kadam.
