MUMBAI: Passengers flying in or out of Mumbai airport can now look forward to delay-free Tuesday flights. That’s because work on the cross-runway intersection, which allowed restricted flight movements between 12 pm and 6 pm every Tuesday, was finally concluded on March 23.
The work, which included a complete recarpeting of 54,000 square metres of runway patch, was completed over a span of 22 Tuesdays. Now, a full-length main runway (called, 09-27) will be available for use everyday enabling more flight movements and fewer dealys. A Mumbai International Airport (MIAL) spokesperson said a full runway will be available on Tuesday.
