Both the machines were donated to the hospital by ONGC. While the state-of-the-art MRI machine worth Rs6.74 crore was inaugurated on Monday, the CT scan machine costing over Rs6 crore will be installed within a month.
The state authorities have maintained that the new set-up will prove beneficial for the patients who seek treatment at subsidised rates in the public hospital. “GT hospital has got the MRI facility for the first time. In a day, we refer about 12 to 13 patients for MRI.
