One dead, one injured in drink-driving accident

One person died and another was seriously injured after an inebriated Mehmood Irshad Ali Saiyyad (35), a tourist car driver, rammed his vehicle into two pedestrians -- dragging one for half a kilometre -- opposite J J Marg police station late last night.
Abdul Sattar Sheikh (50) and Nasruddin Sheikh (55) got hit between 11.30 pm and 12 am. Both victims work at Ajmal and Sons Company, a perfumery, in Colaba.Eyewitness Owais Qureshi (30), who stopped his bike to chase the car driver, said, "The driver was drunk and was trying to escape while the victim was stuck under the wheel."
