Many streets, which otherwise would come alive with crowds frolicking in coloured water, were empty during the most fun-filled and boisterous of all Hindu festivals.
“The festivities were quite subdued this year. Even the kids from our building were not seen playing Holi. They just had a bonfire for holika with food and music the previous night. It’s good to know that people are practising what the BMC preached on conserving water,” said Nizam Siddique of Sadanand Classic housing society in Bandra (W).
