The Bombay High Court on Wednesday refused to grant stay to the publishing of the authorised biography of Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia, Woodwinds of Change, after his sons Vinay and Ajay filed a defamation suit against their father and the author, Surjit Singh.
The sons contended that the book gives an impression that they are Chaurasia’s illegetimate children born to a woman he married despite having a legally wedded wife. The defamation suit was filed last year but came up for hearing for the first time before Justice A V Mohta and interim stay has not been granted.
The biography was released on July 1, 2008, on the occasion of the flute maestro’s 70th birthday. It was released by Amitabh Bachchan.
The book runs into 288 pages, including 16 pages of photographs. Nalla Sopara watchman quizzed in hema malini burglary case
