Virgin Mobile Launches GSM Services in Mumbai

Virgin Mobile India has commercially launched its GSM services in Mumbai and Maharashtra, post the successful launch in five southern circles and Orissa. The company has entered the GSM market with the objective of helping youth leverage and use the power of their network of friends.

To this end, Virgin Mobile has launched a number of products and services designed to strengthen its brand promise to the youth of the country. The company expects to complete its pan-India service rollout by the end of this financial year.




Virgin Mobile said consumers across Maharashtra and Mumbai circle will be offered a differentiated tariff proposition of 20p/min for STD and local calls to any Virgin Mobile number without any pack. Virgin Mobile customers calling any other network will be charged at 40p/min for local and 50p/min for STD calls again without any packs.

With the launch of our services, we intend to stir the GSM space with another ten firsts. All our offerings encapsulate the benefits of 'network for friends' leveraging the fun quotient of Virgin Mobile brand on the mobile communication platform."

New Virgin Mobile products and services:
1) STD is now equal to local call - with STD at 20p without any packs.

2) Itemized mobile bills on prepaid to all customers without any extra cost.

3) 100% Bill Guarantee for prepaid customers - Error free bill or the bill shall be paid for by Virgin Mobile. Resolution of billing complaints in 48 hours or bill shall be paid for by Virgin Mobile.



4) Select your number on prepaid - Customers will now have the freedom to go to a Retail store and ask for a number they want rather than be forced to pick whatever is available at the counter.

5) vBelong - Virgin Mobile Users will be able to design and create their own WAP sites for their group / college / community to showcase their talents by uploading images, music, events, forums, blogging and much more.

6) vJingle: Virgin Mobile customers can get an opportunity to avail free Tring Tunes for a month by agreeing to promote vJingle as their ring back tone for one month.

7) WOW - A tool to initiate the subscriber into the world of Virgin Mobile and wow them with the VMI services through sampling and providing an insight into what Virgin Mobile is all about. As soon as the SIM card is activated, the tool offers a Pandora's list of exciting services and content to engage the user.

8) Friends Circle - An integrated social networking service which brings your life on Facebook, Orkut and MySpace in one place. It allows users to stay in touch with friends across all three social networks at one time through a single log-in.

9) vGenie - Virgin Mobile will offer a mobile (virtual) assistant that will be with VMI customers from the start of the day till end of the day providing Birthday reminders, social networking updates, wakeup call on Voice and SMS.

10) Script-less Calls Center - Real conversations with a human touch.
