Shahid's surprise birthday bash busted

The Bandra police fined the Retro Pub at Bandra last night for violating the 1.30 am deadline. The pub was hosting a surprise birthday party for actor Shahid Kapoor.


Celebrities like Amrita Rao, Archana Puran Singh, Parmeet Sethi, choreographer Ahmed Khan and Shahid's brother Ishaan were present at the party.

The police arrived at 2 am and fined the owner of the pub for crossing the deadline. PI Avinash Bhadgujar, of Bandra police station, said, "The pub had crossed the deadline so we fined them according to the Bombay Police Act."

However, Vicky, manager of the Retro Pub, said, "The pub had shut the music well before the 1.30 am and had not violated any rules. The guests took time to finish their food and therefore we had to extend the deadline to allow them to finish. The police are doing their job and fined us for the violation."
