Maharashtra governor dissolves vice-chancellor search panel

Mumbai: Maharashtra governor K Sankaranarayanan, in his capacity as chancellor of Universities in the state, has dissolved the existing Search Committee for the selection of vice-chancellor of the
University of Mumbai.

A new Search Committee will now be constituted and the process of selection of vice-cChancellor of University of Mumbai would be started afresh, a Raj Bhawan spokesperson said.

The Committee was constituted by the Governorin July 2009 under the chairmanship of Prof Andre Beteille, Emeritus professor of sociology, University of Delhi for recommending the panel of names for appointment of the vice-chancellor of the University of Mumbai.
